Sister Deb Reasner – Learning Center C Supervisor

I was born in Chambersburg and spent my childhood in the Fayetteville area. I met my husband Doug in 1979 and we married in 1980. We raised a daughter and a son and now we are proud grandparents of five grandchildren. My son has three girls, which we got a two-fer (twins) and my daughter has two boys. My grandchildren are very adventurous and into sports so we stay busy with them. Included in my family is our chocolate lab Scout. He is five years old and he goes with us almost everywhere.

My faith story begins in the summer of 2019 on June 1st my husband had a heart attack “The widow maker” the doctors called it. It’s one of those moments when you don’t know how he made it through the surgery but he did. One Wednesday evening my daughter-in-law stopped on her way home from church and began to talk to Doug and I about Jesus. By the time she left, we had both accepted Jesus as our Savior. We started to attend Freedom In Christ Church, just by her stopping that night changed my entire life. Pastor John often speaks about God has a plan for your life and that plan for my life was revealed to me when I was asked to become an FCA supervisor. I love coming to school every day. I am so blessed that I get to serve these children at FCA. I am so grateful for all the kiddos I have met and they have made me a part of their lives. Getting to help the students on a one-on-one basis definitely is my favorite part of the day. Their smiles are so big when they get a problem that was hard or passing that pace test because that pace was a challenge. And we had a 4th grade student come to FCA who could barely read, God put the drive in him to learn to read, and with his hard work he began to excel in science and social studies. They are all reading subjects. Isn’t it awesome that our God answers prayer. My favorite day of the week is Friday because FCA has Chapel every morning and our Father gives Pastor Dane very strong messages every day, but Friday is amazing to see all of God’s children singing, praising, and worshiping our Father is breathtaking to know that every child means every word they are singing to our Lord is the very reason I love FCA
